So as you probably know by now, week 4 is the Giants bye week. Your fantasy football team will be defined by your play when you have star players on their bye week. Hopefully you planned for bye weeks when you drafted your team and are able to just substitute in players from your bench without having to pick up any players off waivers or free agency. However, if you did not plan for bye weeks, here are a few things you can do.
QB: Replacing Eli
J.T. O'Sullivan- He may have been picked up already in your league but if not, O'Sullivan will be a strong play against a New Orleans Defense that is 29th in pass defense this season.
Brian Griese- Griese attempted 67 passes against Chicago last week. Any time a quarterback is throwing the ball this many times, he is always a good play, especially during your starting quarterbacks bye week.
Stay away from: Kyle Orton- Orton had a fairly good week 3 but will go up against a Philidelphia defense that help Roethlisberger to 131 yards passing, no touchdowns and 1 interception. More importantly Roethlisberger was sacked 9 times and lost two fumbles.
RB: You could have any of the Giants 3 running backs that are scoring significant points this year. Here are a few guys you could pick up.
Chris Perry- Perry has earned the starting spot on the Bengals team. The Bengals are struggling heavily this season and their passing offense will continue to struggle as long as Carson Palmer continues to get sacked as much as he does. Perry is good back and will be relied on heavily by this offense.
3 Backs who are receiving a significant number of goal line carries: Pierre Thomas, Le'Ron McClain, Tim HighTower- All three of these backs have been receiving all of their teams goal line carries and have been getting into the endzone with ease. These backs aren't getting the kind of rushing yards you would like from a running back but as you know, touchdowns can add up quickly.
WR: Replacing Plaxico Burress or Amani Toomer:
Chansi Stuckey- Stuckey has scored a touchdown in each of the first 3 games of the season. With Brett Favre at quarter back the ball with be thrown a lot and Stuckey is becoming a target more and more often.
Ike Hilliard- For some reason, Hilliard seems to still be a free agent in many leagues. Since the injury of Joey Galloway, Hilliard is the number one target for the Bucs. He has scored 2 touchdowns this season and will likely continue to do so.
Johnnie Lee Higgins- Higgins is a threat to return a kick off any time he goes back to return one. Also with a young quarterback in Russell, Higgins has already made himself a popular target after his long touchdown against the Bills. Maybe not the guaranteed started but could have another big game against a Chargers team that has given up 8 touchdowns already this season.
Any Saints receiver or any Eagles receiver- Both these teams love to throw the ball and have quarter backs that can spread it out and get all of his receivers involved.
TE: Replacing Kevin Boss
Bo Scaife- The Titans are winning and Kerry Collins is playing great. Who knew?
Robert Royal- The Bills are a very good team this year. Edwards is playing with a lot of confidence and is throwing the ball like a veteran.
Well I hope this helps you get the most amount of points from any player who you need to use to replace any Giants player on a bye this week. Good luck.
